Bodegas Ejarque is a family cantina in the Utiei-Requena denomination outside of Valencia in Southwest Spain. After not operating for more than 50 years, the bodega was recently reestablished by a family member and his partner. Manolo Ejarque is not only the family partner and wine maker, he is also the Wine Director for the State Of Valencia, certifying denominations and testing all wines of the area to make sure that they meet standards. He produces excellent wines. The Eixarch 998, 1999 was selected by a local wine writer in Austin, Texas as his favorite new wine of the year.
A 1999 Reserve, 100% tempranillo, it exhibits a full body and mineral characteristics with dark fruit overtones but most interestingly delivers flavors of citrus and coconut to the palate. The 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon is a wonderful, 100% cabernet, wine that is soft and fruity with a medium body and soft tannins.

MISTERIO CRIANZA 2001
This is a new offering from the Bodegas Ejarque in Utiel-Requena, just outside of Valencia. It is a 100% tempranillo grape wine that has been aged in 60% American and 40% French oak for one year before aging further in the bottle. It is full of fruit and provides a long lasting satisfaction. A really elegant nose with spice and citrus oils notes compliment the great dark berry flavors. A hint of oak makes it a nice mouth full of wine at a great price. top |

VIÑA EJARQUE CRIANZA 1999
This offering from Bodegas Ejarque of Utiel-Requena Spain. Only 60,000 bottles of this excellent wine have been made. After being processed in 6000 liter casks, Viña Ejarque is allowed to age 12 months in a mixture of 40% French and 60% American oak barrels before continuing the aging process in bottles for 12 months. Its bright cherry red color are complemented by a juicy fruit , jammy nose that delivers oak undercurrents. Its flavor is full of juicy red fruit that arrive on the palate with the sensation of red. top |

BODEGAS EJARQUE EIXARCH998, 1999 Reserve
This 100% tempranillo wine is made from the best grapes from the vineyards and aged in 60% American oak and 40% French oak for two years and then blended and aged in the bottle for at least another year. Made of the same grapes as the famous cousins in Ribera Del Duero, it is a more reasonable price as the grapes are grown in Valencia, Spain by the Director of Enology for the State of Valencia. This wine was chosen by a local newspaper wine writer as his favorite new wine. Believe it or not, this wine delivers flavors of citrus fruits and coconut. top
